GATEWAY WOMEN’S COALTION TO HOST GATEWAY AREA DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT MEETING
Frankfort, KY: The Kentucky Commission on Women (KCW), an office attached to the Office of the Governor, is pleased that the Gateway Women’s Coalition, will be hosting the 2006 KCW Gateway Regional Meeting Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Clay Community Center in Mt. Sterling.
The meeting will focus on the region’s progress in the areas of education, equity, leadership, economic sufficiency, health and well-being, and offer a special session on “Women and Money.” “The impact of this meeting will be felt across the Commonwealth at the 2007 Governor’s Conference on Kentucky’s Women,” said Glenda R. Woods, KCW Executive Director, “We are proud to be working with Gateway Women’s Coalition to improve the status of Kentucky’s women.” The Regional Meetings will occur in all of Kentucky’s 15 Area Development Districts during 2006.
Kentucky’s women rank 49th in the percentage of women with Bachelor’s degrees, 48th in political participation, and 50th in health and well-being. For more information on the work of the Commission, visit www.women.ky.gov
